Construction Notes: Although the background scenery is coming along in this photo, the foreground scenery is not complete. I still need to "pave" highway 42 (under the bridge), and I need to plant lots of foreground vegetation. By the way, from backdrop to fascia, this scene is 7" deep over the tunnel and 12" deep at the camera position. The camera is at typical eye level (about 65" from the floor). This illustrates how effective high narrow layout benchwork can be. I am quite pleased with how this scene is looking (even in its unfinished state), and I am sold on the high-narrow benchwork approach to layout design. The trains look great when they are near eye level (50"-70").
