| Construction Notes:
On the right you can see a flap of paper covering a bit of the back-most track. This gives away the trick I use
to transfer my yard plans from computer to the layout. I just print it out full size on regular paper, align the
sheets, and paste them down. Then I lay the flex track right on the sheets. In order to get the space-saving turnout configuration I wanted for Coos Bay yard, the ladder turnouts needed to be hand laid. Notice the rail has not yet been laid for some of the yard ladder turnouts on the east end of the yard (on the right in the photo). Eventually, the background will have a painting of the bay. This scene will have several structures modeled after actual prototype structures near the SP railroad yard in the actual town of Coos Bay. |
